Samsung's 'The Frame' TV
On June 18th, 2017 Samsung launched a TV designed by Yves Behar called 'The Frame.' The motion censored device comes with an invisible connection cable and no gap wall mount, so it resembles a framed work of art. When switched into 'Art Mode' it will display a high res image that the owner can upload or select from the Samsung database. For an additional subscription, buyers may also access the Samsung “Art Store” which currently has 300 works curated by a handful of international organizations, galleries, and museums (oh hey, Barry McGee). While this solves some serious installation issues, it comes with a comparable price tag.
